Muharram is a month full of blessings. It is the first month of the Islamic calendar and a month that is sacred to Allah (swt). During it our good deeds are amplified and our sins are forgiven. We are encouraged to increase our prayers, deeds and charity for the sake of Allah (swt) and our Akhirah.
During Muharram, many Muslims remember the difficulties endured and sacrifice made by Imam Hussain (ra) in the battle of Karbala, a lesson about our devotion to Allah (swt).
The holy Day of Ashura also brings countless rewards and blessings, a significant day in the lives of many Prophets (saw). We remember Allah’s (swt) mercy towards Prophet Nuh (as) and prophet Musa (as) and how he tested the Prophets, blessed them and saved them from hardship.
From just £21 per month, you can build a well in your name, in the name of a loved one or in honour of them. Remind yourself of these hardships and donate water in the honour of the Prophet (saw) and Imam Hussain (ra).
