Over £11,000 pledged at our Swansea charity dinner
'The Love & Sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim'
The fundraiser dinner held on the 30th November was a huge success raising over £10k. The people of Swansea showed overwhelming support and generosity to make it
an evening to remember.
The event started with a beautiful Qur'anic recitation and translation by young Hamza Khalique, followed by an inspirational talk entitled 'Honour the Orphans'
by Arjan Ali - Chairman of Swansea Central Mosque and a true bastion of the Muslim community in Swansea.
Arjan Ali's talk highlighted the great importance of orphan welfare in Islam,
and how it is our duty as Muslims to ensure the well being of all orphans.
Our headline speaker, Ajmal Masroor, followed with a truly enlightening talk about the 'The Love and Sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS)'.
Ajmal Masroor
gave a speech that was both informative and direct yet being filled with humour. His trademark style of joviality and forthrightness really connected with the audience and made for
an unforgettable night.
Ajmal continued with the fundraising after dinner and managed to convey the desperation and suffering of the orphans of Bangladesh to the audience who responded
with overwhelming generosity and support.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude and share this success with our host for the evening, Amer Sheikh for his professionalism and his support on such
short notice, our partners, to our speakers for giving us a wonderful night, and finally to everyone who attended and opened their hearts for the Bangladeshi orphans.
