It could be a short stroll around the park or an epic 200 mile march, it is up to you how much you want to challenge yourself to raise money for Save An Orphan and make a real difference to a child's life. Every penny that you raise will help Save An Orphan make a lasting change to the lives of vulnerable orphans, so dust your trainers off and start walking.

You can organise your own walk around your favourite locations and get people to sponsor you, so whether its from Lands End to John O'Groats or from your house to the local park, you can make a huge difference. Just remember millions of orphans are having to walk miles just to get a drink of water, so why don't you do the walking and help Save An Orphan to provide the water.

You will be raising money to help those less fortunate than you so make sure you tell everyone about what you are doing and get them to support you with every step.

Sponsored runs

Whether you are a serious runner or a gentle jogger you can take part in a sponsored run and help raise money for orphans. You can take part in the London Marathon or Bupa Great north Run, or simply organise your own run.

You can get your friends, family and colleagues to sponsor your run and support you every step of the way. Here is how to get started:

Sponsored sports events

Whatever your age or ability, get involved in a sports tournament and have fun whilst saving lives! You can take part in a tournament that you enjoy and fit it around your own working schedule, and we will give you all the support you need to make sure your event is a success. It is completely up to you which sports tournament you would like to organise or how serious it should be.

It could be just a bit of fun or a fully competitive tournament with sports enthusiasts. Here are just a few sports which you could take part in:

It is up to you which tournament you would like to organise, it could even be a staring contest, or a conkers match, the main thing is to have fun and raise as much money as you can.

Try to encourage all those taking part to collect sponsorships from people for taking part in the event, and charge a fee for anyone wishing to enter the contest. Also shout about the event, we want everyone to know the good work you are doing, and the great cause you are helping.

From eating contests to talent contests, it is entirely up to you to create an event that you will enjoy and help save lives at the same time. We will give you all the support you need to create your own event, we also would like to hear from you if you have any new ideas for events.

Volunteers and fundraisers are the backbone of our organisation and without your loyalty and commitment we would not be able to support the millions of orphans who desperately need our help, get creative and start thinking of new and fun ways to raise the vital funds needed to save lives.
